What You Will Learn

The focus of this course is not just theory, but application.

You will learn how to understand the role of an internal auditor and how to plan, lead, and follow up on an audit based on ISO 19011. The course walks you through how audits are organized and conducted, how to approach audit investigations, and how to handle audit interviews in a structured way.

You will also learn how to document your findings, write clear audit reports, and communicate results effectively, including how to present nonconformities in a way that supports improvement.

Virtual Classroom Experience

The course is delivered in a virtual classroom format, designed to feel as close as possible to a real, interactive learning environment.

You will be able to engage with the material in real time, ask questions, and interact with both the trainer and other participants. The sessions are structured to encourage discussion, participation, and practical understanding. The virtual classroom includes video conferencing for live interaction. It also includes an interactive whiteboard for shared work, instant messaging for ongoing communication, access to breakout rooms for group exercises and collaboration. Sessions can be recorded for later review. All materials are organized in a structured learning library. Online assessments are also included as part of the process.

Course Agenda (2 Days)

The training is delivered over two days, with a total of 12 hours of guided learning.

Day 1 – The first day focuses on building a clear understanding of internal auditing. You will go through the fundamentals of the audit process, the role and responsibilities of the internal auditor, and the core principles of ISO 19011. The session also covers documentation requirements and how they support the audit process.

Day 2 – The second day moves into practical application. You will learn how to prepare for an audit, how to conduct it step by step, and how to use audit investigation techniques effectively. The course also covers how to build audit checklists, write reports.  It explains how to communicate results clearly, including how to handle nonconformities.

Before You Attend

To get the most out of the course, participants should obtain their own copy of the relevant ISO standards before attending. These can be found through your national standards body or directly from the ISO website.

What Is Required

Participation in the course requires a few simple commitments.

You will need to register, attend the full virtual classroom sessions, and complete the practical audit scenarios that are part of the training. Your performance is evaluated throughout the course, so there is no separate exam at the end.

How the Training Works

The learning approach is practical and interactive. Participants work through role-plays, case studies, group exercises, and real-life scenarios. The goal is to build confidence and give you the ability to apply what you learn. Not just understand it in theory. You will receive a training kit with over 300 pages of structured content and practical examples. Instructions for accessing all materials and sessions will be provided by email in advance.

Certification

At the end of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. This certificate confirms that you have acquired the knowledge and skills covered in the training. It reflects your participation and performance during the sessions. It can be used to demonstrate auditor competence within your organization or to certification bodies. Certificates are issued in English or another language if requested.
